Responsibilities
Client Specific tasks:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Offshore Accountant to support our Australian accounting practice. This role is ideal for a qualified accountant with a strong understanding of Australian tax laws and compliance requirements. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing client books, preparing Business Activity Statements (BAS), processing payroll, administering SMSFs, and assisting with general tax matters.
Key Responsibilities
• Bookkeeping & Accounts Maintenance
- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping for multiple Australian clients
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and other ledgers using Xero or -
- MYOB
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records
• BAS Preparation
- Prepare and review Business Activity Statements (monthly and quarterly)
- Ensure compliance with GST, PAYG, and other tax reporting requirements
- Liaise with Australian accountants for final BAS lodgements
• Payroll Processing
- Process payroll accurately and in compliance with Fair Work and ATO guidelines
- Manage superannuation contributions and Single Touch Payroll (STP) reporting
- Maintain employee records and leave accruals
• SMSF Administration
- Prepare SMSF financial statements and tax returns
- Process investment transactions and contributions
- Ensure compliance with ATO regulations for SMSFs
- Use BGL360 for SMSF accounting and reporting
• Tax Compliance
- Assist in the preparation of individual, partnership, trust, and company tax returns
- Maintain understanding of current Australian tax legislation and ATO guidelines
• Client File Management
- Support the Senior Accountant/Manager with timely updates on file progress
- Respond to internal queries and ensure accuracy across all client deliverables
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in Australian accounting/bookkeeping
- Strong knowledge of Australian GST, BAS, payroll, and tax compliance
- Experience with accounting software such as Xero, MYOB, and BGL360
- Prior experience with SMSF administration
- Excellent attention to detail and time management skills
- Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Must be amenable to work on site in Ortigas Pasig and Cubao
- Must be amenable to work in any shift schedule
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in an offshore accounting team or BPO environment
- Knowledge of cloud-based work management tools
