About the Unit: The Procurement Unit prepares contracts and negotiates prices with vendors to acquire goods and services that are most economical for the business. The Unit also maintains good relationship with these vendors and ensure that they deliver on time and of quality.
About the Position: Procurement Officer manages the ownership of an indirect business commodity in a timely manner. The Procurement Officer shall have good knowledge or expertise of the external market, along with solid analytical skills to ensure profitable offers. The Procurement Officer shall report directly to the Procurement Manager (Department Head). He or she will also be based in the main headquarters.
Main Duties
- Identify customer preferences and forecast consumer trends
- Evaluate supplier options according to prices, quality etc. and determine the best choices
- Discover and purchase new products
- Negotiate terms of agreements to achieve the best deal for our company
- Ensure the timely delivery of products and compliance with the purchase contracts
- Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers and key stakeholders to promote fair dealing with the correct strategic partners in the business
- Monitoring of market changes, competitor prices and products
- Expected to work without supervision and able to contribute to the business
Relevant Experience
- Minimum of 3 years of work experience in procurement or supply chain management
- With clear knowledge and understanding of procurement framework such as strategic sourcing, bidding & negotiation, vendor management and procure to pay system
- Logistics, FMCG or Retail background is preferred but not required
- Proficient computer skills, including familiarity in Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc) or Microsoft Office
- Knowledge in Netsuite / SAP is a plus
