Procurement Officer

The Procurement Officer will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and securing quality goods and services at the best possible cost. This role requires strong supplier relationship management, market research, and effective documentation and inventory monitoring. The officer will also be hands-on in supplier scouting, including visits to markets such as seafood ports and commissaries. Key Responsibilities: Manage purchasing processes and ensure the timely procurement of goods. Source and evaluate potential suppliers to meet company standards. Negotiate with market vendors to secure competitive pricing without compromising quality. Conduct weekly sourcing activities in the biggest seafood markets and coordinate with the commissary. Maintain accurate inventory records, prepare regular inventory reports, and monitor stock levels. File and organize procurement documents and records systematically. Collaborate with internal teams to identify procurement needs and ensure supply availability. Perform market research to track trends, new suppliers, and pricing opportunities. Requirements – Procurement Officer Educational Background: At least 2nd-year college level in any field (graduate not required). Experience: With or without prior procurement experience, but experience in sourcing for restaurants/food industry is an advantage. Hands-on exposure in markets (e.g., seafood/fish port) is highly preferred. Skills and Competencies: Strong negotiation skills; ability to haggle for the best prices while maintaining quality standards. Knowledgeable in sourcing suppliers and evaluating offers. Competent in inventory monitoring, reporting, and inputting data. Computer-literate; proficient in MS Excel and record-keeping. Good communication skills for dealing with suppliers and internal teams. Qualities and Traits: Organized, detail-oriented, and meticulous (thorough in documentation). Proactive, resourceful, and willing to go out in the field to look for suppliers. Reliable, trustworthy, and able to meet deadlines. Working Conditions: Schedule: 12:00 NN to 9:00 PM Weekly sourcing trips in seafood markets and commissary. Office-based role with occasional site visits to suppliers. #J-18808-Ljbffr
