  • A Kitchen Helper is responsible for assisting in the overall operations of the kitchen, ensuring cleanliness, hygiene, and organization. This role includes basic food preparation, maintaining kitchen work areas in an orderly condition, and supporting chefs in daily kitchen tasks. The Kitchen Helper plays a vital role in ensuring smooth kitchen operations by preparing ingredients, organizing supplies, and following food safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Follow kitchen policies, procedures, and hygiene standards.
  • Assist in basic food preparation tasks (washing, peeling, chopping, etc.).
  • Maintain kitchen cleanliness, including work areas, equipment, and storage spaces.
  • Keep refrigerators, freezers, and storage areas clean and organized.
  • Ensure all work surfaces, walls, and floors are properly cleaned and sanitized.
  • Assist chefs in mise en place and kitchen setup before service.
  • Dispose of kitchen waste properly and follow recycling guidelines.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Support the kitchen team in any additional tasks as needed.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Graduate of a related kitchen or culinary course preferred.
  • At least one year of experience in a kitchen-related job is an advantage.
  • Willingness to learn and follow kitchen procedures.
  • Understanding of basic food safety and hygiene practices.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Physically fit and able to stand for long hours.
  • Punctual, reliable, and able to take direction well.
