Job Description

  • Gather on-site data using surveying instruments.
  • Plans and Condicts ground surveys designed to establish baseline, elevations, and other geodetic measurements including, but not limited to, topological surveys, elevation surveys, geodetic grids, property boundaries, and terrain.
  • Records and prepares survey data including, but not limited to, the shape, contour, location, elevation, and dimension of land and its features.
  • Verify mathematical accuracy of collected survey data.
  • Assess and evaluate quality of data to determine requirements for additional survey data to be used on applications including, but not limited to, construction, and engineering.
  • May perform other duties as necessary or assigned.

Qualifications:

  • College degree related to Drafting, Architectural, or Civil Engineering
  • Has at least 1 year experience related to the field
  • Familiarity with CAD and drafting software and tools
  • Excellent drafting and technical skills
  • Civil, MEP, and structural drafting experience
  • Background with Structural Principles and methods is a plus
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Willingness to travel to different locations

Technical Skills:

  • Ability to use surveying and mapping equipment including, but not limited to, laser scanners, total stations, graduated rods, transits, levels, theodolites, fathometers, electronic distance meters, and global positioning systems.
  • Knowledgeable on the principles and methods for describing the features of land, sea, and air masses
  • Knowledgeable with CAD software, Surveying software, Mapping software, Map creation software, and GIS
  • In-depth knowledge and ability to interpret blueprint/drawing specifications and models
  • Solid knowledge in geography
  • Ability to work with precision and accuracy
  • Mathematical skills, computer skills, and attention to detail
