Our client is seeking a skilled Video Editor to create engaging content for their official Japanese YouTube channel. You'll transform raw footage into polished, professional videos, add subtitles and effects, and ensure content resonates with the Japanese audience and brand identity. This is a great opportunity to combine creativity, technical skills, and cultural understanding in a role that directly shapes the channel's growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Edit raw footage into professional and engaging YouTube content

  • Add subtitles, captions, music, and graphics to enhance videos

  • Ensure videos align with creative style and appeal to Japanese viewers

  • Collaborate with the Japan Desk Manager and apply feedback

  • Stay updated on YouTube trends to boost engagement

  • Join direction meetings to align creative vision


Requirements

  • Proven experience in video editing (YouTube experience strongly preferred)

  • Proficiency with editing software (Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, etc.)

  • Good understanding of the Japanese language

  • Strong storytelling skills with a creative eye for pacing and visuals

  • Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to meet deadlines


Bonus Skills

  • Motion graphics or animation experience

  • Familiarity with Japanese culture and online trends
