About the Role

You'll be part of Aurecon's core security engineering team — implementing Azure and hybrid cloud solutions, strengthening identity and access management, and automating infrastructure in line with global security standards.

This is a highly technical role that blends cloud engineering, security design, and automation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and secure
    Azure infrastructure
    (NSGs, routing, peering, firewalls, private endpoints, WAF).
  • Implement
    Azure PIM
    , RBAC, and Conditional Access Policies.
  • Configure
    Azure Sentinel
    for threat monitoring and log ingestion.
  • Manage secure connectivity and zero-trust networks (Cisco ASA, FortiGate, Zscaler, ZIA, ZPA).
  • Oversee
    Azure AD
    , SAML/OAuth/MFA, and
    Privileged Access Management
    (CyberArk, BeyondTrust).
  • Automate security and provisioning workflows using
    PowerShell
    ,
    Terraform
    , or
    Octopus
    .
  • Ensure compliance with
    Essential 8
    ,
    NIST
    , and
    SOCI
    standards.
  • Document "as-built" solutions and interpret architecture diagrams.

Must-Have Qualifications

  • 5+ years' experience in Cyber Security, Infrastructure, or Network Engineering (enterprise-scale 5000+ users).
  • Hands-on Azure Infrastructure Security experience (NSGs, firewalls, routing, Sentinel, Defender).
  • Expertise in enterprise networking —
    Cisco
    ,
    FortiGate
    , VPNs, hybrid connectivity.
  • Strong understanding of
    Azure AD
    , RBAC, PIM, Conditional Access.
  • Scripting & automation skills in
    PowerShell
    ; experience with
    Terraform
    or
    Octopus
    .
  • Familiarity with
    VMware
    or
    Hyper-V
    .
  • Experience aligning to
    security frameworks
    (Essential 8, NIST, SOCI).

Good-to-Have

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or Cyber Security.
  • Microsoft certifications (AZ-104, AZ-500, AZ-305, SC-200, SC-300).
  • Cisco certifications (CCNA, CCNP).
  • Security certifications (CISSP, CompTIA Security+).
