Position Summary

The role ensures compliance with DENR, MARINA, Coast Guard, and Customs requirements, while providing technical expertise on vessels, equipment, and operations for safe and efficient project execution.

Key Responsibilities

1. Regulatory Compliance & Permitting

  • Secure and manage all permits and clearances required for marine operations, including those from DENR, MARINA, Philippine Coast Guard, and Bureau of Customs.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and maritime laws applicable to vessel operations, cargo transport, and marine logistics.
  • Maintain updated knowledge of Philippine maritime regulations and international marine standards.

2. Marine Engineering & Operations

  • Provide technical expertise on marine vessels, propulsion systems, and equipment used in transporting heavy materials, construction equipment, and renewable energy components.
  • Assist in planning and supervising marine transport, barge loading/unloading, and offshore logistics.
  • Monitor vessel condition, safety, and operational efficiency.

3. Coordination & Documentation

  • Liaise with regulatory agencies, port authorities, and customs officials to facilitate smooth operations.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records of permits, inspection reports, and compliance documents.
  • Work closely with project teams, subcontractors, and logistics providers for scheduling and execution.

4. Safety & Risk Management

  • Ensure adherence to marine safety protocols and emergency procedures.
  • Conduct inspections and risk assessments for marine operations.
  • Implement preventive measures to minimize accidents and environmental risks.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Marine Engineering or equivalent.
  • Licenses/Certification: Licensed Marine Engineer is an advantage; familiarity with MARINA licensing and safety certifications is required.
  • At least 2-5 years' experience in marine engineering, port operations, or marine logistics.
  • Strong background in handling DENR, MARINA, Coast Guard, and Customs permits.
  • Preferably with experience in marine transport for energy, construction, or heavy equipment projects.
  • Skills:
  • Solid understanding of marine engineering systems, vessel operations, and maritime safety.
  • Strong organizational and coordination skills with regulatory agencies.
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written).
  • Ability to prepare technical and compliance reports.

Job Type: Full-time
