Position Summary:

We are looking for an Accountant with solid experience in Australian accounting processes and hands-on proficiency with the Xero platform. The role involves end-to-end bookkeeping, taxation compliance support, cash flow modelling, and project platform administration. This position requires strong attention to detail, technical accuracy, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with the finance team based in Australia.

Key Responsibilities:

Xero Bookkeeping & Accounting

  • Manage day-to-day Australian bookkeeping tasks in Xero, including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, payroll processing, and superannuation compliance.
  • Maintain the General Ledger and complete regular reconciliations.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual management reports.
  • Perform bank, credit card, and intercompany reconciliations.

Australian Taxation & Compliance

  • Assist with statutory compliance activities such as BAS and IAS preparation and lodgment.
  • Support Payroll Tax calculations and reporting.
  • Coordinate with external accountants when needed.

Cash Flow Management

  • Build and maintain Excel-based cash flow models.
  • Monitor financial performance and provide insights to management.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning tasks.

Nexvia Projects Platform Administration

  • Perform administrative and financial tasks within the Nexvia Projects system.
  • Ensure accurate data entry and project tracking.
  • Training on Nexvia will be provided.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience in Australian bookkeeping or accounting.
  • Proficiency in Xero, with a strong understanding of Australian payroll, superannuation, BAS, IAS, and related compliance.
  • Strong Excel skills, including cash flow modelling.
  • Experience preparing management reports and financial schedules.
  • Ability to work independently with effective communication skills.
  • Experience in project-based accounting is an advantage (Nexvia experience not required; training provided).
