A Site Engineer plays a critical role in overseeing and managing construction projects on-site, ensuring that they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. They act as the link between the project design and the construction activities, coordinating with various stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily site activities, providing technical guidance to ensure compliance with design specifications, safety standards, and construction best practices.
  • Assist in planning project activities, timelines, and resource allocation, working closely with the project manager.
  • Monitor construction processes and materials to ensure quality standards are met, conducting inspections and audits where necessary.
  • Liaise with architects, designers, contractors, and other professionals, ensuring smooth communication and project progression.
  • Identify and resolve on-site issues swiftly to avoid delays or cost overruns.
  • Maintain detailed records of site activities, material use, and labor, preparing regular reports on progress, challenges, and resource requirements.
  • Ensure that all work on site follows health and safety regulations, conducting risk assessments and enforcing safety measures.
  • Help monitor project expenses, ensuring costs remain within the allocated budget by optimizing resource use and preventing wastage.
  • Conduct and verify site measurements, ensuring accuracy in levels, elevations, and structural alignments.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree: Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is typically required.
  • At least 1 -3 years in a similar role within the construction industry.
  • Familiarity with CAD tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) and Building Information Modeling (BIM).
  • Understanding of surveying methods and equipment.
  • Knowledge of tools like Primavera P6 and MS Project.
  • Strong quantitative skills for accurate measurements and project assessments.
  • Able to work collaboratively with team members and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Quickly resolve on-site challenges.
  • Precise and methodical approach ensures high-quality work.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks efficiently on a dynamic construction site.
  • Flexibility to handle unexpected issues and project changes.
