About the JOB:

A Medical Clerk/Receptionist ensures the smooth and efficient flow of patient care and administrative tasks in a medical facility. They will primarily handle patient registration, application of LOA, and clinic queuing, playing a vital role in both patient satisfaction and the operational success of the healthcare office.

Key Responsibility:

  • Greet patients and visitors in a courteous, professional manner.
  • Answer phone calls, schedule appointments, and manage walk-ins.
  • Ensure the waiting area is well-maintained and organized.
  • Collect and verify patient information, including personal details, insurance, and medical history.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
  • Obtain necessary signatures for consent forms and other required documents.
  • Schedule and confirm appointments for patients, ensuring that the appointment calendar runs efficiently.
  • Coordinate with medical staff to manage appointment times and any potential conflicts.
  • Collaborate with insurance companies to verify coverage and process claims.
  • Ensure that patient records are correctly filed and easily accessible to healthcare providers.

Required Skills:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in using office software and healthcare systems (e.g., EMR).
  • Ability to multitask and handle a fast-paced work environment.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology is a plus.

Qualifications:

  • School diploma or equivalent; further education or certifications (e.g., Medical Office Administration) is an advantage.
  • Experience in a medical office or clerical setting is preferred but not always required.
  • Basic knowledge of insurance processes and billing procedures is beneficial.
