Job DescriptionJob Title: Mid-Level Back-End Developer

Reports To: Lead Developer / Head of Technology

Working Status:

  • Status: Full Time / Regular
  • Working Days: Monday–Friday

Basic FunctionThe Mid-Level Back-End Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the server-side logic, APIs, and database layers that power fintech and EMI platforms. The role ensures secure, scalable, and high-performing backend systems that support payments, e-wallets, remittances, and compliance with financial regulations.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesApplication Development

  • Design, develop, and maintain server-side applications, APIs, and microservices.
  • Build robust, scalable, and high-performance backend systems for fintech platforms.
  • Ensure clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices.

Database & API Management

  • Design and optimize database schemas (SQL/NoSQL) for performance and reliability.
  • Develop and maintain RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs for integration with frontend and third-party systems.
  • Manage data security, encryption, and compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., BSP, AMLA, Data Privacy).

System Performance & Security

  • Monitor and optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • Implement security best practices in coding, authentication, and data handling.
  • Collaborate with DevOps and infrastructure teams for deployment, scaling, and monitoring.

Collaboration & Support

  • Work closely with frontend developers, QA engineers, DevOps, and product teams.
  • Support bug fixing, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis for backend issues.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to technical design discussions.

Compliance & Documentation

  • Ensure backend systems comply with financial and data privacy regulations.
  • Maintain technical documentation for backend systems, APIs, and workflows.
  • Support audit and compliance requirements by maintaining secure coding practices.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience as a Back-End Developer, preferably in fintech, banking, or EMI platforms.
  • Proficiency in backend languages such as Java, .NET, , or Python.
  • Experience with databases: PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, or similar.
  • Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and microservices architecture.
  • Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Solid understanding of security best practices, encryption, and authentication protocols (OAuth2, JWT, etc.).
  • Experience with version control systems (Git, GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket).

Nice to Have (Optional Skills)

  • Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) for backend services.
  • Experience with event-driven systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ, Pub/Sub).
  • Familiarity with payment gateways, APIs, and fintech integrations.
  • Knowledge of compliance frameworks (PCI-DSS, ISO 27001, AMLA, BSP regulations).
