Social Worker
to join our team for the "Casting a Wider Net: Systems Approach Against Child Abuse and Exploitation in the Philippines Project." This three-year initiative aims to strengthen the protection, recovery, and reintegration efforts of duty-bearers in addressing child abuse and exploitation, including human trafficking and early and forced marriages and unions (CEFMU).
About The Role
As a
Social Worker
assigned to Tacloban City (will also cover Catbalogan City, Zumarraga & Daram), you will play a crucial role in providing quality case management and handling cases of Online Sexual Abuse and Exploitation of Children (OSAEC), trafficking in persons, and CEFMU. You will work collaboratively with Local Government Units (LGUs) to ensure the effective protection and support of vulnerable children and families.
Key Responsibilities
- Case Identification and Referral: Identify potential cases of abuse, specifically related to trafficking in persons, OSAEC, and CEFMU, within the assigned project area and refer them for appropriate response from partner LGUs.
- Rescue and Shelter Support: Assist with the rescue of survivors from referring agencies and facilitate their placement in shelters.
- Psychosocial Support: Provide psychosocial and therapeutic support to survivors of OSAEC and, where applicable, their families.
- Reintegration Support: Provide preparation and basic counseling to help prepare families for reintegration, focusing on issues of protection and stigma.
- Training and Documentation: Facilitate, organize, and document training/orientations related to the project, including other project-related activities.
- Emergency Response: Support emergency response activities in assigned communities, as required.
- Collaboration and Reporting: Work collaboratively with the Project Manager, providing technical assistance on case management, monitoring target delivery, and providing necessary support.
Qualifications
- Registered and Licensed Social Worker (Bachelor's Degree in Social Work).
- Minimum of two to four years of experience working as a social worker, handling case management of children and working with communities and families.
- At least one year of experience working with LGUs and National Government Agencies (NGAs).
- Knowledge of Child Protection and Safeguarding, gender equality and inclusion, and gender-based violence.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong critical and analytical thinking skills.
- Ability and willingness to conduct fieldwork in project areas.
- Must be a Filipino national based in the Philippines.
