Job Title: Accounting Assistant

Location: Makati City

Position Summary

The Accounting Assistant will support the Accounting Department by performing daily accounting tasks, managing financial records, and assisting with month-end closing procedures. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proficient with accounting software, and possesses a solid understanding of basic accounting principles, preferably within a property management or real estate context.

Key Responsibilities

Accounts Payable (A/P):

  • Process and verify invoices, ensuring proper coding and authorization for payment.
  • Prepare and process weekly check runs and electronic payments (ACH/wire transfers).
  • Maintain accurate vendor records and respond to vendor inquiries.

Accounts Receivable (A/R):

  • Assist with processing daily rent and other property-related payments.
  • Monitor and reconcile tenant ledgers and prepare delinquency reports.
  • Process security deposit returns and reconciliations.

General Ledger & Reporting:

  • Perform bank reconciliations for property operating accounts.
  • Assist in the preparation of month-end closing journals and entries.
  • Maintain organized and accurate financial records and files.
  • Assist with generating basic financial reports as needed (e.g., Trial Balance, Expense Reports).

Administrative Support:

  • Perform data entry into property management and accounting software ([e.g., Yardi, AppFolio, QuickBooks]).
  • Assist in annual audits and tax preparations by gathering documentation.
  • Provide administrative support to the Controller and other accounting staff.

Qualifications Required:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: 1-2 years of experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel (creating spreadsheets, formulas).
  • Knowledge: Foundational understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
