Performs general accounting tasks, including managing payroll, processing accounts payable and receivable, maintaining financial records, assisting with budget preparation, and ensuring compliance with government regulations and reporting requirements. Update financial spreadsheets, generate financial reports like balance sheets and income statements, conduct bank reconciliations, and provide administrative support for audits and financial planning. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, knowledge of accounting software, and adherence to government financial rules are essential for success in this position.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Payroll Processing: Assist with payroll payments, reports, and forecasts, ensuring compliance with government financial and legal requirements.
  • Financial Record Maintenance: Accurately record and maintain all financial records, including the general ledger, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Accounts Payable & Receivable: Process invoices, issue payments, record transactions, and manage accounts.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and reconcile monthly expense reports and other financial reports for management and government agencies.
  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to applicable accounting policies, rules, and government regulations and standards.
  • Budgeting & Audits: Support budget preparation and participate in quarterly and annual audits.
  • Administrative Support: Provide administrative support to the finance team, including managing financial data and document flow.
  • Liaison: Collaborate with other departments, such as Human Resources, to ensure compliance with payroll regulations.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Accounting Principles: Strong knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles.
  • Software Proficiency: Working knowledge of accounting software and MS Excel.
  • Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of government financial and payroll regulations.
  • Confidentiality: Ability to maintain the confidentiality and integrity of sensitive financial and employee information.
