Overall purpose, duties and responsibilities of the role:

The Distribution Compliance Manager/Senior Manager shall assist the Compliance Head and CLCO in implementing the compliance management framework and policy of the company, particularly on Market Conduct and Distribution Compliance (MC). In this regard, he/she shall lead in the implementation of the MC Program (under the direction of the Compliance Head) in instilling first line ownership of MC, including the adoption of best practices among the distribution force.  The foregoing may include, in coordination with first line, the efficient and prudent handling of client complaints and inquiries related to MC breaches by the Company's distribution force, for the purpose of correcting lapses to prevent recurrence and instilling best practices.  The role will also involve raising MC awareness in the distribution force, including developing an annual MC plan, providing in-person training and participation in sales events to highlight MC.

Responsibilities & Duties:

· Review each complaint, assess the issues noted, request necessary information from the appropriate lines of business, investigate, and follow up with business line contacts as needed

· Create a tracker for the record keeping of MC complaints and inquiries as tasks are completed and within defined deadlines

· Write responses on behalf of the Company to address various specific audiences such as client, agent, or regulator, as may be assigned to him/her

· File such reports as may be required by Management/regulators on the distribution force

· Assist in conducting second-line monitoring and testing of MC practices

· Conduct branch visits to check MC practices

· Advise the business on MC matters and assist in setting up sales governance teams in the distribution lines

Other duties as may be assigned by the Compliance Head/CLCO

Essential Skills / Qualifications:

· Bachelor (4-year) degree; a degree in Accounting and/or law is preferred;

· years' relevant experience in compliance assurance and management in financial institutions (banking, insurance, and/or fintech), with experience in handling MC preferred

· Active listener and has excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Filipino

· Flexible approach to understand and adapt to the changing needs of a team, and to work within an environment that is still developing many of its policies and procedures.

· Must demonstrate high level of professionalism, honesty, integrity, and have an impartial and unbiased attitude in the performance of its responsibilities in the Compliance function.
