Location: Atlanta, GA with on-camera requirements and occasional in-person events

Part-time/Contract (~10-15 hours a week) | Reports to Creative and Brand Director

Glo Melanin is a wellness-driven skincare brand rooted in empowerment, radiance, and community. We exist to help our people glow from the inside out—through nourishing rituals, uplifting education, and intentional connection.

As we grow, we're looking for a passionate Community Manager to join our team and bring our online and offline community to life.

What You'll Do:

As our Community Manager, you'll be the voice and heart of Glo Melanin on social media channels and at IRL events. You'll spark meaningful conversations, answer questions with care, and create daily content that makes our audience feel seen, valued, and heard.

• Foster real conversations that deepen trust and engagement across our social channels
• Rebuild and maintain an authentic, consistent content flow—from UGC to being on site at our warehouse shooting content
• Post daily on Instagram Stories, offering advice, product education, and authentic moments (on camera)
• Respond to DMs with video replies and helpful resources
• Spot trending topics and cultural conversations our community cares about—and lead them
• Attend, represent, and organize Glo Melanin at local events, activations, and pop-ups
• Collaborate with the marketing and creative teams to bring new content and community ideas to life
• Bring that sister/cousin/auntie energy—someone the community feels safe coming to
• Engage in comment sections of other pages
• Leverage our Tik Tok Shop to go live and help push products

• Have experience planning or participating in community events
• Thrive in fast-paced, creative environments where your ideas are valued
• Want to grow with a purpose-driven brand that's redefining beauty from the inside out
• Experienced with Tik Tok Shop and Tik Tok Live
• Have experience as a host for events or previous speaking experience

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree, certification, or equivalent experience
• 3+ years of experience building communities (social + IRL)
• Strong writing, storytelling, and communication skills

Time Commitment & Availability:

• This role requires 10–15 hours per week
• Must be available to post and engage during peak social media hours
• Occasional weekend or evening availability for events and live content is expected
• Must be able and willing to travel if needed

Success in This Role Will Be Measured By:

• Content Consistency: Posting daily to Stories and weekly to our Instagram/TT feed
• Engagement Metrics: Comment replies, DM responses, Story interactions, and saved/shared posts
• Community Growth: Audience retention and follower growth across key platforms
• UGC Activation: Number of UGC submissions, tags, and brand mentions weekly
• Event Presence: Attending and engaging at Glo Melanin events and pop-ups.
• Event Feedback and Attendance: What did people think about the event and how many people attended
• Cultural Relevance: Leading or contributing to timely, relatable conversations that matter to our audience
