About the Role

GA HR Consultancy Inc. is seeking a freelance Backend Developer to build the backend infrastructure of a cloud-based Payroll System.

You'll design and implement secure, efficient, and scalable APIs that handle payroll logic, employee data, and financial records — forming the backbone of the entire HRIS platform.

Responsibilities
  • Build and maintain backend modules for payroll processing and reporting.
  • Develop computation logic for salaries, overtime, bonuses, deductions, and tax.
  • Implement integrations for government contributions and remittance reports.
  • Create secure RESTful APIs for frontend and admin dashboards.
  • Design database schemas for employee, payroll, and accounting data.
  • Ensure accuracy, data integrity, and compliance with Philippine labor laws.
  • Conduct testing, debugging, and performance optimization.
  • Collaborate asynchronously with the frontend and product teams.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a Backend Developer for SaaS or payroll-related platforms.
  • Proficient in , Python (Django/FastAPI), or Go.
  • Strong understanding of SQL databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL).
  • Familiarity with Philippine payroll rules and compliance requirements.
  • Experience with API development, authentication (JWT/OAuth2), and secure data handling.
  • Knowledge in containerization (Docker) and cloud deployment (AWS/Azure) is an advantage.
  • Reliable, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently.
