Baker

JOB SUMMARY:

The Baker is responsible for preparing, baking, and presenting high-quality bread, pastries, and other baked goods in accordance with R Bakery standards. This role ensures that all products are produced efficiently, safely, and consistently, while maintaining cleanliness and proper inventory levels in the baking area. The Baker must be willing to work flexible hours, including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Production & Baking

● Measure, mix, and prepare doughs, batters, fillings, and glazes according to company recipes and production schedules.

● Bake breads, pastries, cakes, and other products to specified standards of quality and presentation.

● Monitor baking processes and adjust ovens or equipment as needed.

● Ensure correct storage of ingredients and finished products to maintain freshness.

Quality & Food Safety

● Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen and baking area at all times.

● Follow proper food safety, handling, and hygiene protocols.

● Check ingredients and finished products for freshness, quality, and consistency.

Inventory & Equipment

● Assist in ordering, receiving, and managing baking ingredients and supplies.

● Maintain, clean, and properly store baking equipment and utensils.

● Report any equipment issues or shortages to the supervisor.

Collaboration & Customer Service

● Coordinate with store staff to ensure availability of baked goods for display and sale.

● Support special orders and new product development as directed by management.

REQUIREMENTS:

At least High School graduate (Culinary or Baking Certificate is an advantage).

Previous experience as a baker or in a similar role is an advantage.

Knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, and equipment operation.

Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Good organizational and time management skills.

Willing and able to work flexible hours, including, late night, early mornings, weekends, and holidays.
