DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Process requests on raw materials and services (subcon Trucking & Sewing, installation, construction etc.) in a timely manner
  • Review, compare and analyze products and services to be purchased
  • Verify specifications and price; obtain recommendations from suppliers for substitute products; obtain approval from requisitioning department. Obtain purchased items by forwarding orders to suppliers; monitoring, expediting
  • Receive purchased items and encode GR to the system
  • Source out vendors in compliance with the Company standards
  • Handle accreditation of suppliers, bidding/awarding of contractors
  • Source out/ facilitate booking of trucks for the distribution of goods. Ensure timely arrival of trucks requested
  • Manage inventories and maintain accurate purchase and pricing records
  • Maintain and update supplier information such as qualifications, delivery schedule, product ranges, etc.
  • Maintain good supplier relations and negotiating contracts, research and evaluate prospective suppliers
  • Monitor and ensure savings, spending and budget are within company standard
  • Prepare and submit monthly performance reports.
  • Participate actively to improvement activities such as Small Group Activities (SGA), Quality Control Circles (QCC), Kaizen and 7'S
  • Perform other task that maybe assigned to from time to time.

JOB QUALIFICATION

  • At least 1 year experience in purchasing function; experience in a manufacturing set-up is an advantage.
  • Graduate of any four year course
  • Good network with Suppliers and Buyers
  • Knowledgeable in vendor sourcing practices
  • Strong negotiation and strategic sourcing skills
  • Solid analytical skills; with the ability to conduct cost analysis
  • Contract management skills
  • Knowledgeable in SAP
