Role Outline:

The UX/UI Designer is a pivotal, multi-disciplinary role responsible for driving the full end-to-end design lifecycle, from strategic problem definition to final technical implementation. This role requires a unique blend of deep customer advocacy, compelling visual design, and practical technical expertise in environments like game engines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Discovery & Research
  • Facilitate the client's problem statement definition by validating product assumptions and advocating for the customer's perspective while keeping business objectives in mind.
  • Conduct or support research to understand the business, customers, and agents.
  • Work alongside researchers to plan and run customer and agent research, such as observational studies, customer interviews, usability testing, and other forms of qualitative and quantitative research.
  • Identify design problems through in-depth analysis of research and ideate elegant solutions.
  • Create maps, personas, and other artifacts to aid understanding and communication.
  • Design & Prototyping
  • Translate concepts into wireframes and mockups that lead to intuitive user experiences optimized for a wide range of devices and interfaces.
  • Rapidly test and iterate your designs, using storytelling and rapid prototyping methods, from paper sketching to digital prototyping.
  • Design UI screens, menus, HUDs, and interaction flows using Figma.
  • Take smart risks and champion new ideas.
  • Implementation & Collaboration
  • Implement UI designs in Unreal Engine using UMG and Blueprints.
  • Support and enhance UX patterns for gameplay and player interaction across multiple genres.
  • Integrate multiplayer-ready UI workflows (e.g., "show first, verify by server").
  • Work closely with development teams to ensure design specifications are implemented.
  • Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders, bringing them along at every step of the design process.
  • Participate as a contributor to an interdisciplinary team that includes other designers, researchers, project management, business and brand strategists, and hardware and software developers.
  • (Nice-to-Have) Contribute to audio design and feedback using Unreal MetaSounds.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • 3–5 years of UX design experience creating complex solutions for complete digital environments, including web and mobile applications.
  • Proficiency in design tools, including Figma.
  • Strong understanding of interaction design, visual hierarchy, and accessibility best practices.
  • Ability to independently identify and solve design challenges.
  • Excellent communication and persuasion skills to articulate design processes and solutions to team members and stakeholders.
  • A passion for human-centered design and a collaborative, feedback-oriented mindset.
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud, HTML5, and CSS3.
  • Experience designing for AI-driven experiences and familiarity with AI design tools.
  • Skills in illustration, photography, or iconography.
