JOB DESCRIPTION

The SAP BW Consultant is responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting data warehousing and reporting solutions using SAP Business Warehouse (BW) and BW/4HANA. This role ensures organizations can consolidate data from multiple SAP and non-SAP systems, model it efficiently, and deliver business-critical insights through reporting and analytics.

The consultant must have strong expertise in data modeling, ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, performance tuning, and integration with SAP front-end tools (SAP Analytics Cloud, BEx, Fiori, and Analysis for Office).

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Conduct requirement gathering workshops with business stakeholders (Finance, HR, Supply Chain, etc.).
• Design and develop data models, ETL flows, and data staging objects in SAP BW/4HANA.
• Implement data extraction from SAP S/4HANA and legacy systems.
• Build BEx Queries and reporting solutions; integrate with SAC, Fiori, and AO.
• Optimize data loads and reporting performance using HANA-native features.
• Define and implement authorizations and data security models.
• Support planning applications integrated with BW (BPC Embedded, SAC Planning).
• Manage transports, deployments, and landscape synchronization.
• Provide knowledge transfer and training to business and support teams.
• Offer hypercare and ongoing support post go-live.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Mandatory Skills:

• Data Modeling - InfoObjects, InfoProviders, ADSOs, CompositeProviders, MultiProviders, Open ODS Views.
• ETL / Data Extraction - DataSources, Transformations, Data Transfer Processes (DTP), InfoPackages.
• Data Staging - Master data and transaction data extraction, cleansing, and harmonization.
• Reporting & Analytics - BEx Queries, SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) integration, Analysis for Office.
• BW on HANA / BW/4HANA - Optimized modeling, LSA++ architecture, advanced DSO usage.
• Integration - SAP ECC/S4HANA (FI, CO, SD, MM, PP, HR), non-SAP sources, and real-time data feeds.
• Performance Optimization - Aggregates, partitioning, indexing, query performance tuning.
• Security & Authorizations - Analysis authorizations, data access control.
• Planning & Forecasting - Integration with BPC Embedded for planning scenarios.
• Lifecycle Management - Transport management, system upgrades, and support packages.

Education & Certifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• SAP Certified Application Associate - SAP BW/4HANA or BW on HANA (preferred).

Experience:

• 5-8 years of experience in SAP BW/BW on HANA, with at least 2-3 end-to-end implementations.
• Strong knowledge of SAP ERP/S4HANA modules (FI, CO, MM, SD, HR, etc.) for data extraction.
• Hands-on experience with SAP BW/4HANA modeling tools (Eclipse/HANA Studio).
• Exposure to SAC integration, dashboards, and analytics solutions.
• Experience in performance tuning, large-volume data handling, and system optimization.

Technical & Functional Skills:

• Proficiency in ETL design, data modeling, and reporting tools.
• Knowledge of ABAP for BW routines and HANA SQL scripting.
• Experience with real-time data replication (SLT, ODP, CDS Views, APIs).
• Familiarity with planning solutions (BPC Embedded, SAC Planning).
