About the role
We're looking for a Senior SEO Specialist to join our growing remote team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and has a deep understanding of both the strategic and technical aspects of SEO. This is an end-to-end SEO role covering on-page, off-page, technical, local SEO, and reporting. You'll work closely with content writers, developers, and digital marketing specialists. We're after someone who goes beyond checklists, someone strategic, proactive, and up to date with the latest SEO and AI trends.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute comprehensive SEO strategies (on-page, off-page, technical SEO, and local SEO).
  • Conduct keyword research, competitor analysis, and content gap analysis.
  • Perform regular SEO audits and implement necessary improvements.
  • Oversee link acquisition campaigns and monitor backlink profiles.
  • Collaborate with content writers, developers, and paid ads team on project execution.
  • Use templates for keyword research, site audits, and content strategy.
  • Coordinate with team members using Asana for task management and project tracking.
  • Communicate with the broader team through Slack for quick alignment and support.
  • Generate and deliver SEO performance reports using Looker Studio and Canva.
  • Optimise websites (primarily WordPress and Shopify) for user experience, local search visibility, and technical compliance.
  • Stay updated with SEO best practices and emerging AI tools impacting search.
  • Generate regular SEO performance reports (weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly) using Looker Studio and Canva, showcasing progress and optimisation insights.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years of hands-on SEO experience, preferably within a digital agency.
  • Strong understanding of on-site, off-site, technical, local SEO, and link acquisition.
  • Proficient in Ahrefs or SEMrush, Google Analytics, Search Console, and Google My Business.
  • Experience with WordPress and Shopify platforms
  • Experience using Canva and Looker Studio for creating client-facing SEO reports.
  • Strong grasp of local SEO and user experience (UX) in SEO context.
  • Proficient with Asana for project management and Slack for team communication.
  • Comfortable working across multiple projects (potentially 20–40) concurrently.
  • Excellent communication skills, proper Australian English usage and ability to collaborate with remote teams.
  • Experience integrating AI tools or workflows into SEO strategies.
  • Familiarity with UX/CX design principles as they relate to search optimisation.
