Procurement Specialist

About the Role

We are looking for a highly motivated Procurement Specialist to join our Procurement Department. In this role, you will assist the Procurement Officer in consolidating demands, scheduling purchases, and ensuring the timely delivery of supplies, services, and equipment. You will also help develop supplier relationships, conduct negotiations, and contribute to cost-saving initiatives that support the company's operations.

What You'll Do

  • Assist the Procurement Officer in implementing purchasing policies and procedures.
  • Help develop the supplier market through surveys, plant visits, interviews, validations, and accreditation of suppliers/contractors.
  • Process Purchase Requisitions and Purchase Orders, ensuring timely and accurate supplier payments.
  • Coordinate with end-users to identify product/service requirements and prepare proposals.
  • Record, monitor, and evaluate supplier/contractor performance in terms of quality, pricing, service, and delivery.
  • Negotiate with suppliers/contractors to secure the best value while meeting company standards and timelines.
  • Conduct comparative studies of supplier proposals and recommend the best options to the Procurement Manager.
  • Provide solutions to procurement-related challenges and implement cost-saving measures.
  • Continuously research and study material substitutions to improve quality and productivity.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining strong business relationships with suppliers and contractors.

What We're Looking For

  • Graduate of Engineering, Economics, or Business Administration (preferred).
  • Related purchasing/procurement experience is an advantage.
  • Proficient in MS Office and Google Docs.
  • High level of integrity, honesty, and maturity.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent negotiation skills.
  • Physically fit to travel for supplier visits and site inspections.
  • Can work under pressure and with a strong sense of urgency.
