WFH Civil Engineer Drafter

Responsibilities:

• Prepare technical engineering design drawings for civil projects, including but not limited to parcel subdivisions, drainage and sewer systems, water distribution systems, roads, and highway transportation projects, using AutoCAD/Civil 3D.

• Convert Google Earth files (KMZ) to CAD files and vice versa for use in civil design processes.

• Must be able to work Central Standard Time hours, 6 am - 3 pm (40 hours per week). Must be available for a daily Zoom call with Supervisor/Owner.

Required Skills/Experience:

• Minimum 5 years of civil drafting experience working on subdivision development projects.

• Proficient in AutoCAD/Civil 3D.

• Produce engineered drawings from concept to completion.

• Generate PDFs for review and redline as required to keep the project moving forward at regular intervals.

• Ability to develop CAD drawing sets based on existing data and engineering sketches.

• Formal qualification in Civil Engineering or equivalent.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, OneDrive, and PowerPoint).

• Must be able to understand and apply local codes and regulations (e.g., Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) and County Subdivision Regulations).

• Experience in parcel subdivision, drainage and sewer systems, water system projects, and roads/highways projects.

• Strong ability to read, analyze, and interpret engineering drawings such as plans and details, and to communicate design intent clearly with Supervisor and Owner/Team Leader.

• Initiative and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

• Familiar with Google Earth file (KMZ) conversion to CAD file and vice versa.

• Familiarity with Trimble survey equipment like the DA2, and software such as Catalyst 1 and Terraflex is a plus.

• Research and stay updated on industry changes, evolutions, and best practices.

• Ability to manage, update progress, answer questions, meet deadlines, and work well under pressure.

• Motivated and driven individual.

• Excellent portfolio of previous works.

• Able to work within US business hours.

• Able to make calls and communicate with contractors and government entity using Follow Up Boss

Equipment Requirements:

• Processor: i5 or higher with at least 8GB DDR4 RAM (i7 latest generation/version preferred).

• Hard Drive: 512 SSD (1TB preferred) with at least 250GB of free space.

• Video Card: GTX/RTX 4GB 3050Ti (6GB 3060 preferred).

• Operating System: Windows 10 or higher.

• Internet Connection: Stable internet connection (minimum 200 Mbps download speed) with a backup option.

Work Hours:

• Full-time, work-from-home position with Central Time (CT) hours, 6am - 3pm
