The Opportunity
We're seeking an exceptional Civil Engineering Technologist to support our licensed Professional Engineers in delivering complete engineering packages for our standardized developments. This is a senior technical role requiring independent problem-solving at a professional engineering level.

Key Points:

Full-time remote position (40 hours/week)
Must work Atlantic/Eastern Time Zone hours

Critical Understanding
This role requires you to work at the level of a Professional Engineer. While you won't stamp drawings, you must independently produce complete, construction-ready engineering solutions that require only final review and stamping by our P.Eng. This is NOT an entry-level or junior position.

What You'll Do
Core Engineering Deliverables (Every Project)

Civil Site Engineering

Develop complete lot grading and drainage plans
Design site servicing and utility connections
Create stormwater management calculations and drawings
Prepare erosion and sediment control plans
Produce traffic impact assessments and parking layouts
Design exterior lighting and photometric plans

Technical Documentation

Generate permit-ready drawing packages in Revit/Civil 3D
Prepare technical briefs and calculation packages
Create construction details and specifications
Develop as-built drawings from field data

Municipal Coordination Support

Research and apply local bylaws and design standards
Prepare responses to municipal review comments
Compile submission packages for permit applications
Track regulatory requirements across jurisdictions

Required Qualifications
Must-Have Requirements

Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from recognized institution
Certification: Professional engineering license/certification in home country
Experience: Minimum 5 years practicing civil engineering for residential/commercial projects
North American Expertise:

3+ years working on Canadian or US projects (remote or direct)
Demonstrated knowledge of North American standards and codes
Understanding of imperial and metric systems
Familiarity with Canadian climate considerations

Technical Skills:

Expert proficiency in Civil 3D or Revit
Strong knowledge of grading, drainage, and utility design
Experience with stormwater management calculations
Understanding of low-impact development (LID) techniques

Communication: Professional-level English (written and verbal)
Work Setup: High-performance computer for CAD work, reliable internet

Preferred Qualifications

Licensed as EIT or P.Eng. in any Canadian province
Experience with Nova Scotia or Atlantic Canada projects
Knowledge of HRM Design Guidelines and requirements
CMHC MLI Select project experience
Certification in relevant software (Autodesk Certified Professional)
Additional engineering disciplines (structural, mechanical, electrical)
