We seek an experienced Structural Steel Quantity Surveyorwho has Australian or US experience for our Australian client. The role is 100% home-based and is fully employed with an excellent salary and benefits.

A rare opportunity like this doesn't present itself often Our client based in Australia, is looking for an experienced Structural Steel Estimator with previous Australian or American experience to join their team and work from home in the Philippines. You will play a key role in helping with upcoming tenders. You will report directly to the Estimating Manager based in Australia and will act as an extension of their team.

Our Client

Our client is an award-winning family business that was established over 10 years ago. They work on large-scale new build commercial projects in Melbourne that include, shopping centers, Data Centers, and industrial as well as technical work that includes stiffening existing structures.

The Opportunity:

The Key objectives of the Structural Steel Quantity Surveyor is to be responsible for material takeoffs, compiling costs, and quotes required to successfully bid on the project.

Accountabilities will include:


• Ensuring that all tenders are accurate and clearly defined.


• Fill in gaps of what is missing from drawings and documentation


• Ensuring that all aspects of a project are identified and associated costs are allowed.


• Present the project to the Director for full costings


• Handover the project to the delivery team


• Maintain a coordinated, organised, team environment.


• Review procedures and assist with continual improvement.

About you:

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, quantity surveying or a related field
  • Must have previous Structural Steel Estimating experience in either Australia or US
  • Strong understanding and experience in reading plans and architectural drawings
  • Experience using Bluebeam
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in English
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team
