The IT Software Manager is responsible for managing the implementation, support, and optimization of enterprise applications, with a primary focus on Microsoft NAV ERP. This includes overseeing software development teams, project management for new software implementations, ensuring systems' alignment with business processes, and providing technical leadership. The role plays a pivotal part in ensuring that software solutions support the company's operations efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. ERP Management (Microsoft NAV ERP):

  2. Lead the implementation, customization, and maintenance of Microsoft NAV ERP, ensuring alignment with business goals and operational processes.

  3. Manage end-to-end ERP projects including upgrades, migrations, and integrations with other systems.

  4. Troubleshoot and resolve issues with the ERP, ensuring minimal downtime and continuity of business operations.

  5. Team Management:

  6. Supervise and mentor software developers and IT support staff, fostering a collaborative and productive working environment.

  7. Oversee recruitment, training, and development of IT team members to ensure they are well-versed in ERP and related technologies.

  8. Application Integration:

  9. Oversee the integration of Microsoft NAV ERP with other business-critical applications, including CRM, e-commerce platforms, and warehouse management systems.

  10. Ensure seamless data flow and interoperability across applications to maximize efficiency.

  11. Vendor Management:

  12. Coordinate with external vendors and service providers for software procurement, system upgrades, and support services.

  13. Negotiate contracts with ERP solution providers and ensure cost-effective implementation.

  14. Stakeholder Collaboration:

  15. Act as a liaison between IT and business departments to understand user needs, gather requirements, and ensure ERP solutions meet operational needs.

  16. Collaborate with the finance, operations, and sales departments to optimize ERP functions.

  17. Security and Compliance:

  18. Ensure that ERP and associated systems comply with industry standards and company policies regarding data security and regulatory requirements.

  19. Implement and monitor security measures to safeguard company data, including regular backups, disaster recovery, and system audits.

  20. Reporting and Analytics:

  21. Generate actionable insights by developing custom reports and dashboards within the ERP system.

  22. Work with business units to improve reporting capabilities and data visibility.

  23. Continuous Improvement:

  24. Identify opportunities for process improvement and recommend new solutions or upgrades to existing systems.

  25. Stay updated with the latest technologies, trends, and developments in ERP and software management.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

  1. System Uptime and Reliability:

  2. Ensure 99%+ uptime of Microsoft NAV ERP and critical applications, with minimal unplanned downtime.

  3. Project Delivery:

- On-time and within-budget delivery of ERP implementation, upgrades, and integrations.

- Successful completion of all software projects according to the predefined scope, timeline, and quality benchmarks.

  1. Team Efficiency:

  2. Measure team productivity and efficiency in resolving issues, implementing system changes, and completing tasks within SLAs.

  3. User Satisfaction:

  4. Achieve a user satisfaction score (through surveys) of 85% or higher for system functionality and technical support.

  5. Issue Resolution Time:

- Average resolution time for critical ERP-related incidents should be less than X hours (e.g., 2-4 hours for critical issues).

  1. Cost Management:

- Ensure the software budget is optimized by keeping project costs within the allocated budget and reducing unnecessary expenses.

  1. Data Integrity and Security:

- Maintain zero incidents of data breaches or major security violations.

- Ensure all backups and security protocols are consistently followed and updated.

  1. Compliance and Audit:

- 100% adherence to internal and external IT audits, ensuring ERP compliance with industry standards.

  1. Employee Development:

- Develop and maintain training plans for the team, achieving X% completion (e.g., 90%) of mandatory technical training annually.

  1. ERP Performance Metrics:

- Regularly review ERP performance metrics, such as transaction processing speed, system response time, and overall operational efficiency.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. A Master's degree or equivalent work experience is a plus.

  • Experience:

  • 5-7+ years of experience in software development, ERP management, or IT leadership roles.

  • Prior experience managing Microsoft NAV ERP or similar ERP systems in a retail or distribution setting.

  • Proven experience in leading software projects, particularly within ERP systems and enterprise applications.

  • Technical Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft NAV ERP and its integration with other business applications.

  • Proficient in software development practices, coding standards, and project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum).

  • Knowledge of database management (SQL), cloud solutions, and reporting tools.

  • Soft Skills:

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
