  • Determine and establish approved quantity and cost estimate targets on Land Development and Housing including but not limited to labor, subcontracts, materials, construction equipment, services, and facilities as the baseline for monitoring and measuring project performance.
  • Track actual costs relative to budget and report status on a regular basis to ensure costs are within the projective budget.
  • Track changes to the design and/or construction work and advise the cost impact of changes.
  • Explore and recognize cost reduction opportunities through a cost analysis review.
  • Review and evaluate proposals from consultants, suppliers, and contractors and prepare a recommendation for approval.
  • Handle cascading of awarded bids, bid documents, bid references (suppliers), project details, key plan, and the scope of work to the Construction Management Group.
  • Keep contract and cost control documents inclusive of short-form agreements, requests for proposals, and definitive office estimates (DOE).

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent coursework, a license is an advantage but not required.
  • Proven at least 1-3 years of work experience as a Cost Engineer or similar role
  • Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledgeable in MS Office, AutoCAD, and other applications required in creating and submitting reports as well as project management tools
  • Can work under pressure with minimal supervision
