We are seeking a results-driven and experienced Shift Manager to lead our Engineering Department operations during assigned shifts. This role is responsible for ensuring the continuous and efficient functioning of all mechanical, electrical, and utility systems within the hotel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate all engineering staff and activities during the shift.
  • Ensure uninterrupted operation of hotel utilities including HVAC, plumbing, steam, hot and cold water, electricity, and LPG systems.
  • Promptly attend to and resolve technical service requests and complaints from other departments.
  • Monitor and report on shift activities, including utility consumption, equipment performance, and breakdowns.
  • Ensure the effective use of tools, materials, supplies, and manpower under your supervision.
  • Receive, evaluate, and assign job requests from other departments; plan work methods, timeframes, and required resources.
  • Support and advise engineering staff on technical challenges encountered during the shift.
  • Make timely decisions during emergencies or equipment failures, including operational adjustments as needed.
  • Assist in the operation and transition of major plant equipment such as boilers and chillers.
  • Maintain detailed shift logs and documentation of all relevant events and activities.
  • Receive and account for deliveries of supplies or fuel during the shift in the absence of the storekeeper.
  • Perform other duties and special assignments as directed by the Chief Engineer or Director of Engineering.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in engineering operations within a hotel or facility setting.
  • Strong leadership and coordination skills.
  • Solid knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and utility systems.
  • Ability to lead a team effectively during rotating shifts.
  • Competence in troubleshooting and making decisions under pressure.
  • Good communication and organizational skills.
