Marketing & Content Specialist

Location: Remote

Type: Part-Time or Full-Time

Helen's Project is seeking a Marketing & Content Specialist who can combine creativity with strategy to grow our visibility, strengthen our community relationships, and bring our mission to life through engaging campaigns.

We're looking for someone who thrives in a remote environment, can balance creative freedom with deadlines, and is excited about using their skills to support a nonprofit making an impact.


What You'll Do

  • Creativity & Content Creation

  • Design and develop engaging graphics, videos, blogs, and reels for social media and campaigns.

  • Brainstorm and execute creative ideas to connect with diverse audiences.
  • Build full campaigns around upcoming events, services, or initiatives.
  • Use tools like Canva, Adobe Suite, CapCut, or AI tools to create high-quality content.

  • Marketing & PR Strategy

  • Develop strategies to increase brand visibility and reach.

  • Coordinate influencer outreach, podcast bookings, and media interviews.
  • Track campaign results and report on success metrics.
  • Set up marketing calendars and manage deadlines with our remote team.

  • Technical Skills (Mailchimp & Squarespace)

  • Design and send professional campaigns through Mailchimp.

  • Improve open and click-through rates with data-driven strategies.
  • Build and update Squarespace pages for events, services, or fundraising.
  • Integrate mailing lists, sign-up forms, and donation pages.

  • Relationship Building & Communication

  • Pitch our organization to media outlets, podcast hosts, and community partners.

  • Secure interviews, collaborations, and sponsorships.
  • Lead virtual meetings with potential partners and stakeholders.
  • Adjust communication style depending on the audience (donors, media, or partners).

What We're Looking For
  • Proven experience creating creative content (please share examples).
  • Experience in marketing and/or PR—nonprofit experience is a plus.
  • Strong technical skills with Mailchimp and Squarespace.
  • Confident communicator who can build relationships with media, partners, and donors.
  • Highly organized, deadline-driven, and adaptable to feedback.
  • Passionate about supporting the mission of Helen's Project.
