PV Project Engineer

Job Summary and Purpose

The PV Project Engineer will lead the design and engineering efforts for behind-the-meter solar projects within our pipeline. This role involves verifying system layouts, conducting site visits, preparing comprehensive system designs, performing and supervising maintenance activities, and monitoring and overseeing the installation of solar systems and its operations. The PV Engineer, under the Technical Team, will support the procurement, project management and sales teams, ensure compliance with local codes and standards, and maintain thorough documentation.

Duties and Responsibilities

● Act as a PV Project Engineer for Excell Energy and Powergen Corp. (A subsidiary company of MabuhayPower Holdings Corporation)

● Lead design and engineering for behind-the-meter projects in our pipeline

● Monitor the performance of behind-the-meter operational projects – ensuring proper and optimal production and operations

● Oversee and perform maintenance activities on installed and operational systems

● Verify initial system layout and solar rooftop feasibility specified by the Sales / Business Development Team

● Conduct engineering site visits and audits to collect structural, electrical, and related site information for use in the design of commercial solar power systems.

● Prepare and complete system designs for PV projects including: site plans, mechanical racking and attachment plans, single-line electrical drawings, technical specification, specification of BOS location and interconnection details, and labeling

● Interface and provide streamlined project information and detailed bill of materials to the Procurement Officer

● Provide support on the review of the costs of structural estimates, interconnection, permitting agreements, production estimates, and assessment of commercial risk factors.

● Oversee actual solar systems installation at customer / project location

● Maintain design and proposal requirements, compliance to local codes and standards, design procedures, methods and processes

● Maintain files and documents as back-up for estimate figures, including current (accurate) information on prices from suppliers and contractors through direct contact.

● Improve efficiency of project development and project selection process

● Provide technical support to the sales and procurement teams

● Provide reply to customer inquiries on a timely manner

● Work with Sales Team to support the development of / create marketable products

● Perform related technical research task such as, but not limited to recording technical activities, generating reports and preparing services / product presentations

● Work with service providers on the performance of activities related to installation and maintenance of behind-the-meter installations

Qualifications:

● Registered Electrical Engineer

● 1 to 2 years of design or engineering experience related to renewable energy

● Experienced in data analysis (Performance Ratio, Yield, Availability, Production etc.)

● Experienced in conduction of maintenance activities of installed behind-the-meter systems

● Strong knowledge of photovoltaic system design, estimating and optimizing solar PV system components for energy production.

● Competent AutoCAD and PV software working knowledge (such as PV Sol / PV Syst)

● Knowledge of electrical and structural design components and its suppliers

● Experience in value engineering of photovoltaic and constructions projects

● Working technical knowledge on local codes for Solar PV installation, construction practices

● Strong communication, presentation and project management skills

● Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment

● Self-disciplined and must be good in prioritizing tasks and coordination

● Ability to multi-task and manage numerous projects simultaneously

● Willing to travel to multiple sites around the Philippines, with occasional nights away from home

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: Php30, Php40,000.00 per month
