About the Role

The Safety Investigations Team Lead II (S4) at Uber is a pivotal position within our Community Operations organization, focused on ensuring the safety and security of our users by managing a team of dedicated Safety Investigators. As an S4 Team Lead, you will oversee complex and high-severity safety incidents, ensuring thorough investigations, timely resolutions, and adherence to Uber's safety standards. This role demands a blend of visionary leadership, operational management, and subject-matter expertise to drive performance and maintain high-quality support during critical incidents.

Your Impact in Role:

  • Lead and Mentor: Lead, coach, mentor, and motivate a team of Safety Investigators to navigate sensitive cases and deliver on operational key performance indicators (KPIs) and Service Level Agreements (SLA).
  • Manage Performance: Oversee team performance, provide real-time feedback, and conduct regular 1-on-1 meetings to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Handle Escalations: Manage high-severity escalations, ensuring timely and effective resolution while maintaining high standards of customer service.
  • Drive Process Improvements: Identify opportunities for process improvements, implement changes, and optimize workflows to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must be a regular employee of Uber for at least 2 years
  • Must have relevant work experience leading people manager
  • Must be willing to work in 24x7 shifting schedules, weekends

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Must have at least 2 years experience in a people manager role
  • Must have extensive background in performance and SLA management
  • Must be willing to work in 24x7 shifting schedules, weekends
  • Must be willing to work primarily in the Mabalacat site
  • Basic familiarity with COPC(r) High Performance Management Techniques (HPMT)
  • Foundational knowledge with Lean Six Sigma
  • Background in project management
  • Experience using AI
