JOB SUMMARY:

The Head Nurse is responsible for leading the nursing team in delivering high-quality patient care in an ambulatory surgical setting. This role requires strong clinical expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to manage and coordinate care across multiple disciplines.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

a. Leadership and Management

  • Provide leadership and guidance to the nursing team, ensuring adherence to policies, procedures, and standards of care.
  • Supervise and mentor nursing staff, fostering professional development and growth.
  • Manage staffing, scheduling, and workload distribution to ensure adequate coverage and optimal patient care.

b. Clinical Practice

  • Ensure that nursing care is delivered in accordance with established policies, procedures, and evidence-based practices.
  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
  • Monitor and evaluate the quality of nursing care, implementing improvements as needed.

c. Patient Care Coordination

  • Coordinate patient care across the perioperative period, ensuring smooth transitions and continuity of care.
  • Ensure that patients and families receive appropriate education and support throughout their surgical experience.

d. Quality Improvement

  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care, safety, and satisfaction.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to nursing care and patient outcomes.

e. Compliance and Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, accreditation requirements, and organizational policies.
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to patient care and staff safety.
  • Communication and Collaboration:
  • Foster effective communication and collaboration among the healthcare team, patients, and families.
  • Serve as a liaison between the nursing staff and other departments or disciplines as needed.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Valid PRC License
  • Valid Certificates of Training in Basic Life Support, preferably also with training in Advanced Cardiac Life Support
  • Experience in ambulatory surgery or perioperative nursing
  • Strong leadership and management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing prioritieS
