Job Summary:

The QA Laboratory Analyst is responsible for testing and analyzing salt samples to ensure product quality, consistency, and compliance with safety and regulatory standards. They conduct laboratory tests, maintain quality records, and collaborate with production teams to address any quality-related issues.

Job Description:

  • Conduct chemical and physical tests on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished salt products.
  • Test for parameters such as moisture content, purity (NaCl percentage), contaminants (heavy metals, microplastics), iodine levels (if iodized), and other chemical compositions.
  • Perform microbiological testing if applicable.
  • Use laboratory instruments like titrators, spectrophotometers, balances, and moisture analyzers.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory bodies (e.g., FDA, ISO, HACCP, GMP, local food safety authorities).
  • Monitor and enforce quality control measures throughout the production process.
  • Identify and report deviations, non-conformities, or contamination risks in salt products.
  • Maintain accurate records of all test results and quality control data.
  • Prepare detailed reports for internal and external audits.
  • Ensure documentation aligns with company quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment to ensure accurate test results.
  • Follow proper laboratory safety procedures and handle chemicals responsibly.
  • Work with production teams to improve product quality and resolve quality issues.
  • Assist in developing and updating quality assurance procedures.
  • Participate in training programs to stay updated on quality control methods and industry standards.

Job Qualification:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Food Science, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a quality control/assurance laboratory, preferably in food, salt, or chemical industries.
  • Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • Knowledge of laboratory equipment, testing methods, and quality management systems (ISO 9001, HACCP, GMP).
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and report writing.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
