Freight Forwarding Assistant Manager

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and manage the documentation team for both import and export shipments (air and sea).
  • Review, verify, and process all shipping documents such as bills of lading, commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, etc.
  • Ensure compliance with local customs requirements and international trade regulations.
  • Coordinate with clients, shipping lines, customs brokers, and internal departments to ensure timely and correct documentation.
  • Monitor documentation timelines to avoid delays or penalties.
  • Maintain updated knowledge of customs rules, government regulations (e.g., BOC, PEZA), and Incoterms.
  • Handle filing, documentation audits, and proper records retention.
  • Provide training and guidance to documentation staff to ensure accuracy and efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Customs Administration, Logistics, Business, or a related field.
  • Licensed Customs Broker is an advantage.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a managerial post in a freight forwarding company
  • Strong knowledge of international shipping documents, customs processes, and trade compliance.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office and freight forwarding/documentation systems.
