
Financial Controller

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Directly responsible for the accounting of a portfolio of hotels.
Oversee accounts payable, invoicing, and accounts receivable processes for the hotels.
Provide financial reports and interpret financial information to General Managers, Hotel Managers and other
stakeholders, recommending courses of action.
Produce ad-hoc financial analyses and reports as required by management.
Act as a key driver of forecasts and annual budgets, aligning them with the business's strategic goals.
Analyze costs, variable contributions, sales results, and actual performance compared to business plans.
Establish and streamline policies, procedures, and processes to ensure efficiency and adherence to best
practices.
Liaise with and support General Managers on various financial and operational matters.
Conduct procurement reviews and evaluations to identify cost-reduction opportunities.
Monitor debtor balances and ensure timely collections.
Assist in treasury management by monitoring and controlling cash on hand and bank balances.
Ensure compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements and other applicable
local laws.
Lead and manage the accounts department, fostering a culture of growth, collaboration, and continuous
improvement.
Provide guidance and training to team members to enhance their skills and efficiency.
Monitor the financial performance of the portfolio and identify opportunities for improvement.
Support hotel management teams in their decision-making with financial insights.
Handle other ad-hoc financial analysis and tasks as reasonably required by management.
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree in accounting; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role, within the hotel / hospitality industry.
Strong knowledge of Opera, PMS, SUN or other hotel management software.
Excellent knowledge of English language.
Demonstrated experience in leading and developing people.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to address all levels within the organization and ability to
gain consensus.
Strong understanding of accounting principles and frameworks and analytical skills.
Strong organizational skills, with a proven ability to meet deadlines & work well under pressure.
Demonstrated experience working efficiently and with a high level of attention to detail.
Prior experience in analyzing data and forecast future business trends, and to develop effective financial
plans based on businesses assessments.
