Business Insights Specialist

At Key Media, we're looking for a commercially minded Business Insights Specialist (P&C Insurance) to join our insights team. This role is all about analyzing industry and economic data to uncover trends, risks, and opportunities in the commercial insurance space. You'll turn complex data into clear insights that form the foundation of our market intelligence reports, helping brokers, insurers, and business leaders make informed decisions.

This is not an IT or back-office data engineering role. We're looking for someone who can translate insurance market dynamics and business data into compelling stories, strategic and actionable intelligence.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze data across key commercial insurance lines (e.g. general liability, property, workers' comp, commercial auto, E&O, D&O, cyber, etc.) to surface trends, threats, and growth sectors.
• Assess the impact of economic and industry trends—inflation, supply chain disruptions, interest rates, employment shifts—on commercial insurance demand and coverage needs.
• Map broker and carrier strategies across key sectors and geographies to uncover competitive intelligence.
• Develop insight-driven reports, forecasts, and graphs tailored to insurance brokers, commercial producers, and underwriters.
• Collaborate with research, events, editorial, and business teams to shape content.
• Monitor regulatory changes, litigation trends, and policy developments that influence commercial coverage and risk appetite.

About You

• Proven experience in a data or research role within the commercial insurance space, with an understating of the roles of broker, carrier, MGA, and industry associations.
• Preferably strong knowledge of US commercial lines insurance markets and risk trends across B2B sectors.
• Sharp analytical thinking and ability to identify real business implications from datasets and reports.
• Familiar with economic indicators, business risk frameworks, and insurance-relevant datasets.
• Excellent communication and storytelling skills, capable of presenting findings clearly to senior executives and non-technical stakeholders.
