Its' Chairman, Mr. Julio G. Roxas Jr., has more than fifty-eight (58) years of experience not only in freight forwarding but in the shipping industry as well. Jugro has firm financial foundations enabling it to offer a wide variety of services aimed at addressing the numerous concerns of its' clients whenever cargo needs to be moved from one point to another. From its Makati main office, the company has branches in Luzon.

All are strategically located near economic or special zones to ensure prompt and efficient service. It also has a branch in Cebu City, where majority of our exporters in the South are located. Over the years, Jugro has established an extensive global network of Business Partners and Agents.

This provides the company with strength that makes it able to compete with multinational companies that proliferate the industry today. We are currently seeking a highly motivated and skilled Chief Accountant to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified individual who thrives in a dynamic and growing environment.

Position OverviewThe Chief Accountant will oversee and manage all accounting activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and regulations. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, in-depth knowledge of accounting principles, and extensive experience in financial reporting and analysis. This position plays a key role in maintaining financial integrity and supporting business decisions through accurate financial information.

Key ResponsibilitiesAccounting Management:Lead the accounting team, providing guidance, training, and support. Oversee and manage the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Ensure timely and accurate recording of all financial transactions in compliance with accounting policies and standards.

Manage general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and financial reconciliations. Financial ReportingPrepare and analyze monthly and quarterly financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. Provide in-depth financial analysis to management, highlighting key trends, risks, and opportunities.

Coordinate and assist with internal and external audits, ensuring all documentation and reports are in order. Compliance & ControlsEnsure compliance with all relevant accounting standards (GAAP, IFRS, etc.), tax regulations, and industry-specific regulations. Implement and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accuracy in financial reporting.

Stay up to date with changes in financial regulations and accounting standards. Budgeting & ForecastingCollaborate with department heads to prepare annual budgets and forecasts. Monitor budget variances and provide recommendations for cost control and resource allocation.

Process ImprovementIdentify and implement improvements in accounting processes and systems for increased efficiency and accuracy. Lead initiatives to streamline accounting operations and reporting timelines. RequirementsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field or CPAProven experience (5 years) in accounting or finance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.

Strong knowledge of accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle). Excellent understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations. Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy. Ability to communicate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders. Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.

Preferred QualificationsCPA certification or equivalent. Experience with financial systems implementation and upgrades. Knowledge of industry-specific financial regulations.
