Job Summary:

The Safety Officer II is responsible for ensuring the implementation of occupational safety and health (OSH) programs within the batching plant operations. The position focuses on maintaining compliance with DOLE standards, preventing accidents, and promoting a culture of safety among all plant personnel.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Implement and Monitor Safety Programs
  • Enforce compliance with the Occupational Safety and Health Standards (OSHS) and company safety policies.
  • Conduct regular inspections of batching operations, equipment, vehicles, and storage areas.
  • Ensure that workers use personal protective equipment (PPE) properly.
  • Risk Assessment and Hazard Control
  • Identify potential hazards in batching, mixing, and loading areas.
  • Recommend corrective and preventive actions to mitigate risks.
  • Prepare Job Hazard Analyses (JHA) and Safe Work Permits.
  • Incident and Accident Management
  • Investigate accidents, near-misses, and unsafe acts.
  • Prepare incident reports and recommend preventive measures.
  • Maintain safety records and documentation for DOLE compliance.
  • Training and Orientation
  • Conduct safety orientation for new employees, drivers, and visitors.
  • Facilitate toolbox meetings and emergency drills.
  • Coordinate external trainings (e.g., BOSH SO2 certification, first aid, fire safety).
  • Compliance and Reporting
  • Prepare required safety reports for DOLE, LGU, and other regulatory agencies.
  • Ensure availability and posting of safety signages and emergency procedures.
  • Monitor validity of permits, safety certificates, and medical clearances.
  • Emergency Preparedness
  • Lead the Emergency Response Team (ERT) during drills and actual incidents.
  • Ensure proper maintenance of fire extinguishers, spill kits, and first aid equipment.

Qualifications:

  • Must be a DOLE-accredited Safety Officer II (with 40-hour BOSH training).
  • Preferably with at least 2 years of experience in a construction or batching plant setting.
  • Knowledgeable in OSHS, risk assessment, and incident investigation.
  • With good communication and leadership skills.
  • Physically fit and willing to be assigned on-site full time.

Work Schedule:

  • Monday to Saturday (as required by batching operations)

Reports To:

  • Plant Manager / Safety Head

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: Php18, Php25,000.00 per month
