- At least 1 year experience being Safety Officer
Job Description
- 1.1 Develop, train others, enforce, and audit safety standards and regulations
- 1.2 Document safety policies, training, regulations, compliance, and adverse events
- 1.3 Conduct walkthroughs and formal audits to evaluate safety needs and policies.
- 1.4 Monitor equipment moves and maintenance, and make changes to procedures.
- 1.5 Serves as Secretary to the Health and Safety Committee. As such, he shall:
- 1.5.1 Prepare minutes of meetings;
- 1.5.2 Report status of recommendations made;
- 1.5.3 Notify members of the meetings; and
- 1.5.4 Submit to the employer a report of the activities of the committee, including recommendations made.
- 1.6 Acts in an advisory capacity on all matters pertaining to health and safety for the guidance of the employer and the workers; Sharing information, suggestions, and observations with project leadership to create consistency in safety standards throughout the production team and the entire company
- 1.7 Ensures that company safety and health targets are established, monitored and met. Establishes corrective actions plans if there are non-conformances and ensures improvement plans are in place.
- 1.8 Conducts investigation of accidents as member of the Health and Safety Committee and submits his separate report and analysis of accidents to the employer.
- 1.9 Reviews and reports on the employees and personnel compliance with health and safety rules and recommends commendations or dismissal based on performance
- 1.10 Coordinates all health and safety training programs for the employees and employer.
- 1.11 Maintains or helps in the maintenance of an efficient accident record system and coordinates actions taken by supervisors to eliminate accident causes.
- 1.12 Provides assistance to government agencies in the conduct of safety and health inspection, accident investigation or any other related programs.
- 1.13 Stay informed on what is happening in the occupational and safety field at large in order to make sure their company is up-to-date and current with the most recent OSH developments; Participating in continuing education to update knowledge of health and safety protocols and techniques.
- 1.14 Ensures that all personnel and employee under his/her leadership/responsibility are provided appropriate direction, leadership, guidance, support and training to enable the advancement of their knowledge and experience in the operations of the overall plant energy and related mechanical systems environment.
- 1.15 Assumes responsibility for the performance of employees in the area of responsibility by spot checking work in the area, evaluating the quality of the work performed, and coordinating with the Section Manager and HR Manager to develop management tools to evaluate personnel and trade related performance.
- 1.16 Enforces Company rules and policies regarding employee conduct by advising all assigned employees about the Company's rules and policies on employee conduct, issuing verbal warnings and written reprimands for violations, and recommending progressive disciplinary action to the Section Manager and HR Manager as necessary.
- 1.17 Facilitates a work environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds.
