About the role

Phil Jac Inc. is seeking an experienced Highway Design Engineer to join our growing team. The ideal candidate has a strong background in roadway and highway design, excellent technical proficiency, and hands-on experience with relevant national standards and design software. This role will involve producing high-quality engineering plans, coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams, and ensuring that all designs comply with Philippine standards and project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed highway and roadway designs, including horizontal and vertical alignments, cross sections, grading, and drainage layouts.
  • Prepare and review engineering drawings, plans, and design reports.
  • Ensure all designs comply with AASHTO and DPWH standards, guidelines, and specifications.
  • Utilize Autodesk Civil 3D for modeling, analysis, and preparation of design deliverables.
  • Conduct site assessments, surveys interpretation, and technical evaluations to support project requirements.
  • Coordinate with project managers, CAD designers, and other engineering disciplines to ensure timely and accurate project delivery.
  • Perform quality checks and technical reviews of design outputs.
  • Provide technical support during project construction phases as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (licensed Civil Engineer preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a highway or roadway design engineer.
  • Strong knowledge and application of AASHTO and DPWH standards.
  • Proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D (alignment design, corridors, surfaces, profiles, quantity take-off, etc.).
  • Experience with engineering analysis tools and design documentation.
  • Strong understanding of geometric design, pavement design, drainage, and traffic considerations.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Preferred Skills (Optional)

  • Experience in design-build or EPC projects.
  • Knowledge in stormwater modeling tools (e.g., Civil 3D SSA, SWMM).
  • Familiarity with project scheduling and cost estimation.
  • Experience coordinating with government agencies for permitting and design approvals.
