Overview:

The
Social Media Content Specialist
will be critical in driving awareness and preference for Maya through impactful, distinctive, and culturally-relevant organic content across Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and other major channels.

Setting the benchmark for executional excellence, the Social Media Content Specialist will help ensure that all organic content is strategic, well-contextualized for utmost relevance to the audience and the business, is aligned to the vision and brand identity, and is optimized for high engagement and positive sentiment.

What you will do:

  • Develop and implement content, channel, and format strategies that drive engagement, reach, and brand affinity for the brand in general, and campaigns of all sizes, in collaboration with other internal or external stakeholders.
  • Lead in updating the always-on content calendar, ensuring a balanced, consistent, well-timed and strategic mix of posts across platforms – that's optimized for best-in-class engagement rates.
  • Develop unique to Maya content segments aimed at building a strong organic following
  • Craft insight-driven briefs for creative teams and content creators that clearly articulate objectives, messaging, tone and inspiring references to generate execution ideas.
  • Serve as the guardian of brand storytelling and tone of voice, ensuring coherence across all social media touchpoints.
  • Partner closely with community management, creative, media, and analytics teams to ensure content performs against objectives.
  • Provide clear performance reviews and competitive insights to senior management.
  • Stay ahead of the curve on topic and behavioral trends, and other adjacent evolutions that need to be aligned with to ensure the brand will always be of utmost relevant to consumers

What we are looking for:

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Advertising, Journalism, or related fields
  • 3-5 years of experience in social media content strategy, planning, or editorial leadership
  • Demonstrated experience managing brand tone of voice and multi-channel storytelling
  • Proven ability to develop content strategies and calendars for large or fast-moving brands
  • Experience collaborating with creative teams and content creators
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong understanding of social media trends, platforms, metrics and performance optimization
