Role description:
This role is part of Arcadis' Global Excellence Centre (GEC) and will join our 3,000+ talented individuals working in India, Romania, and Philippines, in partnership with Arcadis' offices globally. We are looking for a Sustainability Specialist to join the Architecture and Urbanism Sustainable Design team. As a Sustainability Specialist you will join a highly collaborative and creative team dedicated to excellence in sustainable design and innovative problem solving. The ideal candidate will be organized, detail-oriented, a self-starting individual driven to succeed, and passionate about sustainability.

The Sustainable Design team uses and develops simulation tools to test design ideas and ensure their feasibility. The team developed CLIMATESCOUT, a free climate analysis tool. The building performance simulations typical in our practice include: climate analysis, solar, energy, life cycle analysis (LCA), daylight and glare, and outdoor microclimate studies. Modeling includes early phase building simulations for design performance and simulations for code or LEED compliance. The Sustainability Specialist will use the appropriate simulation tools during the design process, supporting the Sustainable Design team. The team also manages and coordinates green building certification systems, such as LEED, WELL, LBC, and others.

Role accountabilities:

• Provide expertise in design, construction, and analysis of high-performance and net-zero energy buildings, energy efficient and renewable energy technologies, and embodied carbon calculations.
• Seek information related to the best sustainability practices.
• Research green building technologies, materials and codes, and other regulations.
• Collects case studies to illustrate sustainability success stories.
• Supports the Sustainable Design team in firmwide activities and tasks such as 2030 reporting and data collection.
• Works closely with other members of the Sustainable Design team.
• Helps create project presentations and educational presentations around sustainability.
• Assists with LEED documentation and documentation for other green building certification.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Building Science, or a related field is required (Master's preferred).
• 3+ years of relevant experience.
• Expertise in building performance simulation software for solar, daylight, energy, and life cycle analysis, including Sefaira, DIVA, Grasshopper, and Climate Studio. Experience with IESve, Sketchup, Rhino, Adobe Creative Suite, AutoCAD, InDesign, Revit, Insight 360, and Cove Tool is advantageous.
• A strong design background with a preference for candidates who demonstrate analytical capabilities.
• Skilled in prioritizing and managing multiple projects while maintaining effective communication with team members.
• Self-motivated and detail-oriented with the ability to work independently, ensuring accuracy in all tasks.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills that foster effective team collaboration and information sharing.
