Procurement Associate

The Procurement Associate supports procurement operations by coordinating vendor sourcing, processing purchase requisitions, and ensuring the timely delivery of goods and services. Maintains accurate purchasing records, assists with cost analysis, and ensures all procurement activities align with company policies, service delivery needs, and budget objectives.
What does a day in the life as a Procurement Associate look like?
- Coordinates purchase requests, obtains approvals, and creates purchase orders in accordance with company guidelines
- Sources and evaluates suppliers based on cost, quality, reliability, and service standards
- Monitors and tracks purchase orders to ensure timely delivery and fulfillment of materials or services
- Maintains vendor information, price lists, and purchase records to support accurate reporting and audits
- Collaborate with internal departments to confirm specifications and resolve order discrepancies
- Supports cost-reduction and efficiency initiatives by analyzing spending data and identifying savings opportunities
- Assists with vendor performance tracking and ensures compliance with contract terms and service-level expectations
- Ensures all procurement activities follow ethical standards, internal controls, and company purchasing policies
- Adhere to company policies and procedures
- Meet or exceed performance targets for related KPIs
- Continuously improve knowledge of products, services, and processes by participating in training programs and continuous learning modules
- Collaborate with other departments as needed
- Maintain a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude toward customers and colleagues at all times
- Perform other duties as assigned
What are the required qualifications for a Procurement Associate?
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, or related field preferred
- 2 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain operations, preferably within a BPO or corporate shared services environment
- Knowledge of vendor management, sourcing procedures, and procurement systems
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and ERP or procurement software
- Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Customer-focused and results-oriented mindset
- Integrity, reliability, and adherence to company policies and confidentiality standards
