The Central Supply Stock Room (CSSR) Assistant is responsible for the proper receiving, cleaning, sterilizing, packing, storing, and distribution of medical instruments, equipment, and supplies used throughout the hospital. The position ensures that all items are handled according to infection control standards and hospital protocols to maintain patient safety and efficient clinical operations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Sterilization and Preparation
  • Clean, disinfect, and sterilize medical instruments and equipment following established procedures.
  • Assemble, wrap, and label instrument sets and sterile packs accurately.
  • Operate and maintain sterilization equipment (e.g., autoclaves, dry heat sterilizers).
  • Inventory and Supply Management
  • Receive, record, and monitor the issuance of sterile and non-sterile supplies.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records of instruments and consumables.
  • Inform the CSR In-Charge of low stock levels or damaged items for replenishment.
  • Distribution and Coordination
  • Deliver sterile items to different hospital units promptly and efficiently.
  • Retrieve used instruments and ensure proper segregation and decontamination.
  • Coordinate with nursing and medical departments for supply requests and replenishment.
  • Equipment Care and Maintenance
  • Ensure all sterilization equipment is in good working condition.
  • Report any malfunction or damage immediately to the supervisor.
  • Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of sterilization areas.
  • Compliance and Safety
  • Follow hospital infection control and biohazard safety policies at all times.
  • Observe proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Comply with the Data Privacy Act of 2012 and confidentiality standards regarding hospital operations.
  • Documentation and Reporting
  • Record sterilization cycles, batch numbers, and dates for quality assurance.
  • Assist in preparing reports on sterilization activities and supply utilization.
  • Professional Conduct
  • Maintain professionalism, punctuality, and cleanliness while on duty.
  • Uphold the hospital's mission, vision, and core values through courteous and responsible service.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Graduate of any medical-related course or vocational program (e.g., Nursing Assistant, Health Care Services NC II).
  • Preferably with experience or training in Central Supply operations or infection control.
  • Knowledgeable in sterilization techniques, hospital hygiene, and infection control practices.
  • Physically fit, detail-oriented, and capable of handling sterile materials properly.
  • Can work with minimal supervision and flexible with shifting schedules.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Php14, Php15,000.00 per month
