This role requires strong numerical and analytical skills, with attention to detail being crucial for avoiding penalties and managing risk.

Core responsibilities

  • Tax return preparation and filing:

Accurately prepare and submit various tax returns (e.g., monthly, quarterly, annual) and related documents.
- Compliance monitoring:

Stay up-to-date with local, state, and federal tax laws, then ensure the company's internal policies and processes align with these regulations.
- Auditing and verification:

Conduct internal audits to assess and verify tax compliance across different departments and review financial records for accuracy.
- Financial reconciliation:

Reconcile tax accounts with statutory accounts and identify and resolve any discrepancies.
- Liaison and communication:

Act as a point of contact for tax authorities, responding to their inquiries and managing official examinations or audits.
- Advisory:

Provide guidance to management and other departments on tax-related matters, compliance requirements, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Record keeping:

Maintain accurate and organized records of all tax filings, correspondence, and related documents.
