Main Purpose of the Job

Support the Head of Supply Chain on a day-to-day basis as well as in the development of the strategic view of Supply Chain Operations. Provide visibility of Supply Chain costs by driving relevant analysis and reporting (monitoring of the budget/forecasts/targets and controlling variances)

Key Outputs

  1. Challenge assumptions in seeking cost improvements in Supply Chain; seek for and support cost improvement opportunities, validate and review proposed savings as well as participate in supply network optimization studies. Facilitate meaningful dialogue around Logistics Trade Terms and cost-to-serve trade-offs

  2. Coordinate reporting of actuals (including organizing and overseeing timeliness and accuracy of period-end close) and forecasts across Supply Chain; ensure transparency of the process; follow up and monitoring of progress to close gaps.

  3. Ensure full transparency of strategic Supply Chain decisions on the organization (financial & non-financial)

  4. Develop, control and ensure robust evaluations of capital investment plans and requests including post project evaluations.

  5. Ensure clear control and visibility of assets and liabilities, including the development and implementation of internal controls.

  6. Monitor Trade Net Working Capital and components, Distribution Costs and Bad Goods. Analyze reasons for deviations and track corrective actions

  7. Coach and develop the subordinates as individuals and as a team, including career and succession planning

Key Experiences

  • Formal financial qualification of appropriate level (degree or similar) e.g. Accounting graduate

  • Prior experience in Accounting / Finance function (e.g.: Costing, Factory/SC controlling, Accounts payable)

  • Fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) industry experience

  • Experience in a network organization with cross-functional stakeholders

Required skills for a supply chain controller

  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret data

  • Expertise in supply chain management principles and best practices

  • Proficiency in logistics software and systems

  • Financial acumen to manage budgets and analyze costs

  • Problem-solving and decision-making abilities to address supply chain challenges

  • Good Communicator both oral and written; should be capable of articulating financial aspects in a clear and concise manner to non-financial professional

  • Good interpersonal skill

  • Good organizational and planning skills
