BASIC PURPOSE/JOB BRIEF

MechanicalEngineeringQualitySurveyorcombinestechnicalknowledgein mechanical systems withfinancialacumenandprojectmanagementskillstoensurethesuccessof construction projects involving mechanical works.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Risk Management:

  • Identifypotentialrisksrelatedto mechanical systemsand develop mitigation strategies.

Feasibility Studies:

  • Conductfeasibility studiestoevaluatetheeconomic viabilityof mechanical systems and suggest cost-effectivesolutions

Tender Documents:

  • Assistin thepreparation oftender documents andbillof quantities (BoQ) specifically for mechanical works.
  • Review clientspecificationsandliaisewithdesignteams to ensure all mechanical elements are included.

CostEstimation:

  • Prepare initial cost estimates for mechanical systems based ondesignspecifications,drawings,andprojectrequirements.

  • Analyzeandquantifymaterials,labor,andequipment costs involved in the mechanical aspects of the project.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree in Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying from recognized university.
  • Minimum 5 years pre-contract or post-contract experience.
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
  • Possess good project background and proven English language technical writing ability and skills.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices in both mechanical engineering and quantity surveying.
  • Engage in professional development opportunities such as training and certifications in relevant software of industry standards.
