I. JOB IDENTIFICATION

Job Title : Store Operations Supervisor (Food & Beverage)

Department : Store Operations

Job Classification : Supervisory

Reports To : Store Manager

Directly Supervises : Sales Associate and Frontliner

II. JOB SUMMARY

To supervise the day to day operations of the department in providing excellent service and quality grocery products to customers to support its sales and service achievements.

Key Performance Measures

A. Sales Achievement

  1. Adheres to department's financial plan and budgets, works to improve sales, profit, inventory level and expenses.

  2. Determines fast-moving items and ensures prompt requisition/replenishment to sustain its sales with the approval of the superiors.

  3. Ensures proper and timely endorsement of return of bad orders to suppliers in coordination with merchandising.

  4. Implements periodic and annual cyclic count of inventory to maintain data accuracy.

B. Stock Target & Replenishment

  1. Oversees accurate and proper monitoring of stocks in the storage and selling areas.

  2. Coordinates with merchandising for stock ordering to support the department sales and service delivery.

  3. Ensures prompt replenishment of products in the selling area.

  4. Closely coordinates with merchandising and other concerned department personnel for deliveries and/or transfer of grocery items.

C. Shrinkage Control

  1. Implements and maintains preventive measures for shrinkage control.

  2. Implements proper handling procedure of merchandise against breakage or damage.

  3. Maintains regular checking of product code dates and pulls all out-of-code products.

  4. Implements disposal of bad order products according to standard procedures in disposal.

  5. Ensures that bad orders and its disposal are properly accounted for and reported accordingly.

D. Customer Service Execution

  1. Attends to customer queries, complaints or suggestions in a courteous and friendly manner.

  2. Provides proactive information to buying customers about product promotions within assigned areas.

  3. Directs and supervises store layout and appropriate display of grocery items / food items using the full techniques of category management to maximize space efficiency and quality product presentation.

  4. Checks pricing and tagging of grocery items / food items prior to display in the selling area.

  5. Checks the preparation and timely display of accurate and clear signages.

  6. Ensures and maintains cleanliness and organization of grocery selling, storage and surrounding areas at all times.

E. Manpower Control & Development

  1. Plans, organizes, controls and schedules work activities of immediate subordinates.

  2. Orients, trains, and guides subordinates in the performance of their duties.

  3. Monitors compliance by immediate subordinates to established standard operating policies and procedures, job duties and special assignments.

  4. Manages internal conflict of subordinates and promotes the core values of the company.

  5. Reviews, evaluates and appraises the performance of immediate subordinates and recommends commendation, developmental plan, promotion or disciplinary action.

F. Others

  1. Relieves the work of sales associate in his/her absence.

  2. Operates various equipments used by the department such as computer, tag machine, etc. in an efficient and safe manner.

  3. Implements periodic and annual cyclic count of inventory to maintain data accuracy.

  4. Implements price canvass activity to ensure competitive pricing of grocery items / food items.

  5. Performs regular clearing activity of own department and as directed by the superior, participates in store opening & closing clearing activities.

  6. Performs other related duties as may be assigned either in support of divisional goal attainment or for own personal or professional training, education and development as planned by the superior.

  4. Consignment Monthly Sales Report

  5. Out-of-Stock/Overstock Report

  6. Top SKU Report

  7. Price Canvass Report

V. CRITICAL CHALLENGES

  1. Achieving sales target and acceptable shrinkage level.

  2. Product knowledge of grocery items being sold.

  3. Handling direct customer complaints / concerns in the selling area.

  4. Handling employee's conflict and motivating and uplifting their morale.

  5. Accurate stock inventory and full replenishment.

VI. DECISION-MAKING AUTHORITY

  1. Independent decisions on some day-to-day activities within well-defined limits.

  2. Regular reference to higher authority is required.

  3. Approves work schedules, leaves and overtime of subordinates.

VII. MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS

  1. Education / Professional Experience

  2. College graduate of any of the courses related to Hospitality Management, Food and Beverage Management, Food Service administration, hotel and restaurant management is an advantage,

  3. With at least 2 years of retail / food & beverage work related experience in hospitality industry, 1 year of which in a supervisory capacity

  4. Preferably with certification on Food Safety standards

  5. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  6. Attentive to details

  7. Good organizational and planning skills

  8. Good Decision Making ability

  9. Good communication and interpersonal skills

  10. Knowledge of Office 2000 applications

  11. Ability to work long hours and can handle pressures
